Summary/Abstract: The essay aims to show that Romanian learning and teaching is the result of harmonized work and tools. A language can be learnt if we invest a lot of time and energy, if we have the will, the tools, and the teachers, and if we have the conditions that allow the learner to practise the new language. At the same time, it is important that the child reaches the required level in each learning cycle; no one can expect that any omissions or deficiencies that may have accumulated will be made up for in the next learning phase. The present writing is based on personal experience, thus subjectivity cannot be excluded. The author sheds light on the teaching and learning of Romanian from several points of view: as a parent, as a teacher, and as a textbook author. In some places, she expresses her opinion and thoughts in a critical tone. She also points out that it is not impossible to learn Romanian to a certain level, even at a high level, in school, through textbooks, and explains how necessary it is for young people in Szeklerland to stay in their homeland even if they do not know Romanian.
