Summary/Abstract: School and education have a significant influence on a young person’s life path and career choice. In the case of Hungarian-medium education in Transylvania, there is often a risk of choosing a Romanian-medium school, which will lead to further difficulties for Hungarians in Transylvania in the long term. The present research therefore investigated the situation of school mobility and talent management in Covasna County, in a series of interviews covering five public schools. The research revealed that students generally have fewer language change difficulties and do not tend to choose Romanian as a language of instruction. However, the chances of finding a job are clearly hampered by a lack of knowledge of the national language. This in turn leads to the fact that young people who study abroad generally do not return to their homeland despite the attention paid to talent management in the schools of the county.
