Summary/Abstract: A number of articles address the topic of the use of words of foreign origin, speaking of them exclusively as unnecessary loans and advocating a position "against" their use and "for" replacing them with native words. This work analyzes the reasons: semantic, social, sociolinguistic, semiotic, psycholinguistic and pragmatic, which condition this process. Its consequences are also brought out – both for the external form of speech, and at a deeper level for the composition and structure of the vocabulary and for changes at the grammatical level.
