Summary/Abstract: Nicknames in the village of Kalugerovo are part of the personal name system, related to people's social life and present in their everyday life. Nicknames are mostly used in colloquial speech and have different connotations. The research analyzes the collected nicknames that existed in two socio-political eras – before 09/09/1944 and during socialism. Their typology is determined according to their semantic motivation and linguistic models for their formation.
