Summary/Abstract: Adolescence is one of the most challenging developmental periods in a person’s life. During this time, young people undergo psychological and physical changes that are demanding for both the young individuals and their parents and teachers. In this period, relationships between young people and adults, especially with parents and teachers, become quite complex, leading to much dissatisfaction among youth. This can manifest through various ineffective behaviors and psychological difficulties. This paper will present the development of a mental health protection program for children and youth in Visoko, which began in 2022. under the name “Children’s and Youth Festival ‘What I Need, Hear Me, and Get Involved.’” The program originated from psychological counseling and psychotherapeutic work with children and youth at the Mental Health Center in Visoko and is based on psychological developmental theories and William Glasser’s Choice Theory. The program has been developed, refined, and implemented for three years in Visoko, involving students from all elementary and high schools, their teachers, professors, parents, as well as students and professors from other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
