Summary/Abstract: Content and Language Integrated Learning is being introduced into university curricula in response to the demands of the labor market for qualified specialists able to effectively communicate in international professional or academic environment. CLIL methodology of teaching specialized subjects in a foreign language has a number of specific features and these features are discussed in this article. Successful implementation in higher education requires teachers who are proficientin content and language, as well as effective communication skills. The article explores the dynamicinteraction between language and content, highlighting the central role of effective teaching strategiesfor the successful implementation of CLIL in higher education.
