- Summary/Abstract:In our research Sources of neonymy in the Romanian medical lexis, a theoreticalapproach of the concepts of neonymy, terminology, metaphorization from a typological, analytic, comparative, descriptive-linguistic perspective is proposed with application and examples from medical language. The objectives of the research: definition and status of neonyms, migration of terms, determinologization, terminologization, terminological metaphor. Our focus is on the terms stemmingfrom French and semantic neologisms – among which terminologization and metaphorization. Someconclusions: there are no clear boundaries between lexical neologisms and neonyms – inside thelinguistic system, due to conceptual dynamics, the tendency towards intellectualization of general language as the cultural level increases in a society. Lexical neologisms are not motivated, they establishsynonymic relations, have a stylistic, aesthetic, emotional, phonetic value, being characterized byconcision in terms of structure. Neonyms are motivated by the need to designate in terminology, theyeliminate synonymy and have, at structural level, analytic forms – syntagm, phrase and sentence types. Keywords: terminology, specialized metaphor, specialized lexis, cardiology

- Summary/Abstract:The following remarks focus on a section of the extensive spectrum of pre-formedlanguage as a special area of the language stock, whereby those phenomena are examined in moredetail which – precisely because they are established as formulation patterns in a language community – refer to human behavior or actions and thus to interpersonal relationships and social customs.Comparative phraseologisms (CP), which have been excerpted from representative phraseologicaldictionaries of German and Romanian, serve as the material basis. In communication practice, phraseologisms help with formulation work because communication tasks, which are an integral part ofsocial interaction, are routinely accomplished with the help of ready-made linguistic expressions. Theuse of phraseologisms can secure certain communication intentions. The article therefore takes up thefrequently expressed insight that the speakers of a language community have extensive, differentiatedeveryday knowledge about language and communication based on collective communicative experience, which is drawn on in linguistic interaction. The interlingual analysis of this excerpt from conventional language use reveals preferred images and metaphors in the compared languages Germanand Romanian, so that the article shows the productive source domains for the conceptualization ofthe event of communication. With regard to the phraseological occupation, similarities in the conceptual processing of this key term can be determined, whereby the registered convergences suggestcommon observations and attitudes in the targeted language communities

- Summary/Abstract:In the process of communication, people express their opinions to each other, focusingnot only on the exchange of information, but also on a respectful or friendly attitude towards theinterlocutor. This is the concept of “politeness”, which is an inherent attribute of everyday communication. This article presents the most important linguistic theories of politeness and shows how theyintertwine with related subjects. Politeness, as an element of everyday communication, ensures astable and conflict-free process because it is a regulator of human behaviour. We do not normallythink of politeness in everyday life, rather, we become aware of this phenomenon only when weexperience its violations: a “thank you” that is not heard, a greeting that is barely responded to, aform of address that we perceive as inappropriate. Defining politeness in everyday life is, therefore, difficult and is usually done using alternative terms such as behaviour, respect, decency, good manners

Konfixe) according to their meanings; determining themeaning of the bases or roots from which the diminutives are derived; assigning the differentiationsof the meanings to the „denotative – connotative‟ groups. The analysis reveals that the denotative meaning of the diminutive affixes (germ. Konfixe) isrealised in the vast majority of the analysed examples. The connotative meaning of the analyticaldiminutive formations involves additional associations, emotions, or value judgments. The functionof these formations depends on the context and on the author‟s intention

Forthis purpose, various didactic and methodological principles are used so that teachers may addressdifferent types of learners who will thereby memorize the learning material more easily and for alonger time.In order to achieve this goal, digital media play a crucial role. By using digital media, teacherswill enable students in immersing themselves more profoundly in regional topics. By doing so, they willnot only turn closer to German culture, but will view the German language in its breadth and length.67Regional studies and intercultural learning are firmly anchored in GFL lessons. Teaching regionalstudies is a complex task and a huge challenge at the same time. While having to select topics whichmeet all the requirements of the framework curricula, students must also be motivated by these selectedtopics. Regional topics such as National Holidays or festive events offer a wide range of options.Teachers can use various kinds of texts to convey regional topics. In this presentation „CookieBaking“ as a regional and cultural topic will be introduced on the basis of two recipes. The recipe textswill serve as specimen for a vast range of educational text work: i.e. vocabulary, grammatical exercises, advent season and traditions, history, economy, etc

- Summary/Abstract:The impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on education in thelast decades has been considerable. Undeniably, ICT continuously adds renewed interest to communication and learning. Modern educational approaches aim at teaching foreign languages (FL) by meansof effective, differentiated methods, multimodality being one of them. A number of empirical studieshave been conducted on the subject of using multimodal methods in FL teaching/ learning efficiently.Understanding how our brain works, and how people process the information best could be consideredone of the most important aspects that guarantees educational success. Moreover, the actual choice ofFL teaching methods depends not only on the level of mastery of the material, but also on the students‟age, gender, learning conditions, learning styles, as well as on the availability of resources. An essentialissue to consider, while using multimodality, is the VARK learning style model (visual, aural, read/write, and kinesthetic) developed by N. Fleming, whose questionnaire results show the learners‟ sensorymodality option in learning has a great influence on the quality of their knowledge. Multimodaliy is theblend of several modes of communication, i.e. images, music, sound, sight, print, and video that createmeaning in a text. The present article considers the option of using multimodality in teaching Englishin a FL class to the digital generation

Reading withoutpre-reading is a less engaging process. Entry into the text is achieved by making connections withother texts or with students‟ life experiences. Through pre-reading, we challenge students to find a clearmotivation for reading the text. However, entering the text must be closely related to both the rationaland emotional aspects of the readers. As a didactic sequence, pre-reading is the coordinating elementthat opens the scenario dedicated to the reception of literary text. Pre-reading is a stage through whichthe teacher can open pathways to understanding the text that will be studied in the classroom

- Summary/Abstract:There is a substantial amount of scientific publications on the results of phraseological studies. However, scholars continue to explore them. The rationale dates back to the early 20thcentury when Danish linguist O. Jespersen called phraseology "despotically capricious and elusive."Any speech contains complex linguistic units, such as words, phrases, sentences, texts, etc. In addition, there is a more complex unit – fixed word combinations, in which words lose their autonomyand acquire a new meaning.Their totality constitutes phraseology. Recently, there has been evident interest in phraseology, seen as a unique treasure of any language. Numerous linguists, both domestic and foreign, have addressed the general and specific issues of phraseological units. This article examines the generalized interpretation of the term "phraseological unit" by various linguists, including Moldovan, Romanian,German, Russian, English, Spanish, Italian, Slovenian, and Czech scholars

- Summary/Abstract:: Over the course of art history, we have come to know titles of works that have beencirculated, taken up and transformed, such as Eugène Delacroix's La liberté guidant le peuple (1830)by Yue Minjun (1995), Gérard Rancinan (2008) and P Boy (2019), Edouard Manet's Le déjeuner surl'herbe (1863) at Pablo Picasso (1960), Daniel Spoerri (1983) and Seward Johnson (1994) orLeonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa (1503-1506) at Marcel Duchamp (1919), Fernando Botero (1959),Andy Warhol (1963) and Jean Michel Basquiat (1983). Devoted to the interaction between titles ofworks of art, this study is a reflection on the artist's discourse conveyed by the title-name, whichenters into interference with other titles of works of art, both earlier and later. We show how certaintitles are said, taken up again or modified, thereby signalling other titles, other discourses. In theencounter of discourse-titles, the title of a work of art is enriched by new semantic potentialities. Theconcept of Bakhtinian dialogism (1975 [1929]) will be used to examine the interdiscursive dialogismof art titles. The proposed analysis focuses on the mechanisms of reappropriation, reformulation andcirculation of certain artistic titles.
