Summary/Abstract: This article aims to deal with the rise of emotion in the voice in a sensitive contextsuch as that of farewells. Beyond the written text and its meaning, it shows that the emotional chargelinked to the crisis communication situation can carry various meanings (contexts) or perverse effects(contradictions). This allows us to conclude that President Ahidjo's resignation speech is, beyond thefarewell text, a speech of decadence since the expression of the emotion of sadness most of the timeexceeds applicable standards. On a methodological level, this is a laboratory study which uses ascorpus an audio extract of the original speech and analyzes it using PRAAT software.
