Summary/Abstract: Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FFL) in an intercultural context presents various challenges in terms of developing learners‟ communicative skills. This article examines thechallenges of interculturality in the development of communicative competence in the FLEclassroom. By analyzing the theoretical foundations of interculturality in language education, weattempt to highlight the importance of cultural diversity and learning contexts, explore the challengesfaced by learners in acquiring effective communication skills in an intercultural context, and the pedagogical strategies and didactic tools that can be used to overcome these challenges. The importanceof intercultural awareness in the FFL teaching-learning process is also examined, with suggestionsfor effectively integrating intercultural aspects into the training of communication skills.
