Summary/Abstract: During the teaching and learning of a foreign language, not only communicativeskills must be developed that allow the student to communicate efficiently. But there are other seriesof skills that contribute to making learning more effective. This article aims, on the one hand, toanalyze theoretical aspects of critical competence; and on the other hand, show the teaching strategiesthat stimulate critical thinking in the Spanish as a foreign language classroom.
