Summary/Abstract: The history of the press is also an auxiliary science to modern history. We can discoverthe movements of the public spirit and reconstruct the stages of the development of literature throughthe newspapers and magazines of the time, through their themes, their style and their impartiality.Undoubtedly, the relationships established between Romania and Provence have been more numerous than we suspect today, and very warm. Two Romanian personalities in particular influenced thespirit of Provence. Firstly, it was Vasile Alecsandri, as he was partially considered the living symbolof the Romanian Renaissance and also the great voice of Latinity. The second personality was QueenElisabeth, known under her pen name as Carmen Silva. L'Astrado, the bilingual magazine from Provence, allows any cultivated mind to become familiar with the big names and the great works of Provençal and world literature
