Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the etymology related to wine terminology and the previous researched approaches. In the last decades there have been sporadic researches on the etymology of wineterms and their evolution over time. We will shed light on the evolution of the wine lexicon, but also on172the current use of wine terminology. Although wine terms from various languages are used in the modernRomanian vocabulary, the weight of the Latin element in wine terminology is definitely highlighted.
