Summary/Abstract: Although they do not belong to the area of ​​social protection, employment and education are areas which provide very important social services to citizens. Their importance is particularly reflected in the influence they have on the position of citizens and on probability the need to use some of the social protection services. Availability of education and the possibility of finding a job in rural areas of Serbia are aspects that paid extra attention in the semi-structured interviews conducted in the first phase of our research. In doing so, we paid special attention to the gender dimension access to these social services and the obstacles faced by women.
