Summary/Abstract: On the background of strengthening the relationships between the EU countries and of the increasing concerns regarding the equilibrate development of the society both in each EU country and overall, in the entire EU, a very significant subject of debate remains diminishing the income inequality. However, in order to find solutions for this issue, it is mandatory to understand first what drives such inequality. This is why the paper aims to analyze the impact of some important macroeconomic and social determinants, such as GDP, gross capital formation, labor force participation, control of corruption etc. on income inequality in EU countries, during the period between 2004 and 2020. Our analysis leads to conclusions regarding the main drivers of inequality and creates premises also for implementing solutions in order to correct this phenomenon.
