Summary/Abstract: The society in which we live brings new challenges to the Church and its ministers. Demographic decline, the exodus to Western countries and new religious doctrines are just some of the challenges to which we are called to offer immediate responses. This is why the Church, in order to be able to carry out its mission in this social context, must also show responsibility and discernment with regard to the issues of its ministers and all aspects of how they carry out their mission. It is therefore necessary to recognise that we are in a situation where we must immediately identify realistic solutions to the compatibilities or incompatibilities of the ministers in terms of how they can carry out their mission when they also carry out a professional activity. To achieve this aim, the first research basis must be the various biblical situations from which, by identifying cases in which ministers also carry out another activity, some paradigms can be outlined.
