Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the topic of misinterpreted feminism, which has a significant impact in the country. It is divided into two sections – theoretical part and empirical research. In the theoretical part, we examine the origin, causes, and public opinion in Bulgaria regarding the movement. With the theoretical part of the report, we aim to clarify the exact definition of feminism on a deeper level. In the empirical part, we focus on public views regarding the ideology, by creating a questionnaire with 13 questions. In this section, we summarize and analyze the responses of the respondents who participated in the survey. Based on their responses, we not only present their perspectives, but also demonstrate how a lack of education on the topic and its misrepresentation in the media leads to a misperception of the importance of feminism and women‘s emancipation.
