Summary/Abstract: This report aims to describe the main concepts relevant to the issue of violence and harassment in the workplace and to present a summary of the most used definitions. It is assumed that both violence and harassment are forms of aggressive behaviour occurring in the course of, on the occasion of and as a result of work activities. Although they share common characteristics and are often used either simultaneously or as synonyms, the paper highlights their substantive differences. This attempts to resolve some issues relating to the conceptualisation of these phenomena.
