Summary/Abstract: The report is devoted to a significant social problem, particularly relevant for the Bulgarian society-human trafficking. In order to address the need for structured knowledge on the subject, it examines the concept of human trafficking, the types of victims and the common schemes for their exploitation. The picture of the phenomenon is complemented by data on the prevalence of this crime, its historical overview and an analysis of the motives behind this type of criminal act, the work of organised criminal groups. The text concludes with a presentation of the response to human trafficking in Bulgaria.
