Summary/Abstract: It seems that no major theory of regional integration predicted the rise of Euroscepticism and the extent to which it might influence the integration process and (potentially) become one of the constraints for future functioning of the European Union. There are many open questions regarding this phenomenon, the key one encompassing its causes and consequences, seen from different angles, in search for the right approaches to deal with such attitudes. In the given context, the goal of this article is to contribute towards dismantling the “myth” of Euroscepticism by showing that in many cases it is the result of populist manipulation and lack of basic understanding of the integration process functioning.
