Summary/Abstract: The author interprets "Audacities of Self-Awareness" by Edward Balcerzan because of autobiographic strategies present in this book. Significant and visible are most of all relationships with other texts of the author: strictly scientific, essayistic, poetic, as well as apparently autobiographic ("Perehenia and sunflowers"). The most important proves to be the “doubleness of worlds”: real and textual, life and literature, their mutual permeating and dependence, noticed and repeatedly stressed also by the author himself: as a scholar, writer and poet.
