In this context, the present article deals with the following questions: What are the characteristics and the historical roots of Canada’s policy of multiculturalism? What are the main trends of the Canadian 'mosaic’ in comparison with the American ‘melting pot’? Could the Canadian multicultural model be successfully *implanted’ in other countries?
