Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses presentation and treatment of the book history theme in the recent Croatian literature of the same area, with an emphasis on identifying the key concepts, processes, phenomena and actors in understanding of the mentioned theme. The initial origins of defi nition, dependance and close connection between the “history of book” with the cultural space are also discussed. The work suggests inseparability of the content and form of a book/codex.
