Summary/Abstract: On the material of the German language the article studies the lexical means, which ob-jectify the knowledge of a person about the getting of olfactory perceptual information. The method of cognitive interpretation serves to find out the distinctive features of language expression of the category «existence», which correlates with presence or absence of the smell in the field of human perception.
