Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this article is to present some basic features of pragmatic markers used in Spoken Bulgarian. These syntax-independent words or phrases traditionally treated as fillers or “parasites” have several functions on the levels of discourse and communication. Since new ele-ments are added to the system of pragmatic markers it can also be characterized by its dynamics.
