Summary/Abstract: Analyzing the journal of the writer Antal Szerb, I concentrate upon the premises of literary history and literary criticism behind the editor’s gesture. I investigate some questions and problems of literary life that are linked to the publishing of this journal. Publishing a text documenting the writer’s personal life presupposes that this is of public interest. This gesture is an unequivocal sign of canonization and classicization. In the case of Antal Szerb, the journal also documents the reality-forming power of discrimination/exclusion and double identity.
