Summary/Abstract: Baba Yaga is a collective image, which reflects the attitude of people towards the fairy and the real world, their perceptions, beliefs and hopes. The aim of this paper is to introduce new and unknown features of her character and appearance for the Bulgarian reader and in particular to prove that these new features can change imposed conceptions about her character in fairy tales and her place in contemporary culture.
