Summary/Abstract: One of the most important subjects of the developmental psychology is theory of attachment. This theory suggests that every child creates in his mind in the first periods of existence a relational pattern that will influence his entire social life. Collective self-esteem is a concept which expresses the affective function of social identity. The paper presents the results of an inquiry on several aspects, dealing with relationships between the attachment style and the collective self-esteem. The results of inquiry may be the starting point in the more elaborate understanding of the affective self, functioning.
