Summary/Abstract: In order to strike a balance between the company’s profit interests, the interests of its stakeholders and of society, „responsible companies” often have to decide which of their activities to handle responsibly and to what extent. This paper attempts to unravel corporate social responsibility and answer the question „Is corporate social responsibility hypocritical?” It also examines the logic and algorithm behind the hypocrisy in corporate social responsibility. The paper also presents the concept of creating shared value introduced by Michael Porter as an alternative to CSR.
