Summary/Abstract: To the current economic concept GDP is the most used indicator to measure the generated wealth. Feminist economics has shown that over 50% of all human work is unpaid and therefore is not recorded in GDP. Women’s economic contribution through the unpaid services they deliver is generally agreed to be an integral and necessary part of our economy and the social relations. It is time the contribution of women’s unpaid work to be measured and included in GDP. That underestimated women’s economic activity actually is an immense form of social wealth overlooked by economists.
