Summary/Abstract: The first mosque built in Banja Luka right after the conquest, in 1528,was the mosque of Sultan Sulayman – New mosque. In the shadow of the official Islamic line, characterized by building of mosques and masjidsas pious endowments (vakf), there is another, dervish component, which builds tekkes and zaviyas as vakfs. In this sense, this paper presents a search for such an object in Banja Luka. In source documents of Ottoman origin from 16th century, there is evidence about existence of Ahmeddede’szaviya, and also about existence of Sufi adherents at the central part of Banja Luka.
