Summary/Abstract: The contents of this study are cinema problems in Slovakia between the two world wars. The study tries to sketch development and application of cinematography into new Czechoslovak state. The author focuses on the influence of new government approach on entire cinematographic society. Further she presents cinema culture, music at cinema and various social events. The author also tries to find out what was the influence and cultural meaning of cinema on society. The cinema as a new phenomenon in the Slovak society between two world wars assisted to the upheaval of cultural level of society. Cinema became a cultural centre that brought entertainment to people and people could see life on screen.
