Summary/Abstract: Spatial relationships such as “up-down”, “high-low”, “front-back” or “in-out” are commonly used in the economic discourse to account for the fluctuations in economic variables such as price level, interest rate or inflation. Drawing on the theoretical framework of cognitive linguistics, our paper aims at providing an insight into the main orientational metaphors which occur in the French economic media discourse.
