Summary/Abstract: The paper presents a survey on the role of business communications in modern organizations in the context of global trends and challenges posed by globalization processes and set priorities for sustainable development. It analyzes the types of communications, the importance of mass communication for modern business, the goals and functions of communications in business organizations, the main tasks of business correspondence and the principles of business communication, public relations’ functions and the requirements for a successful PR. The main reasons for barriers to communication are described and suggestions have been made to overcome them. The prerequisites for a successful communication process in the business are discussed and the key qualities of the successful communicator have been identified. Special attention is paid to social responsibility in modern business organizations and its communication in internal and external environment.
