Summary/Abstract: The actions that took place in the Bulgarian sky in the period 1943-1944 led to a radical turn in the social and political life and in the fate of thousands of Bulgarians by extending the air warfare over the entire territory of the Kingdom of Bulgaria. The focus of this study is the first of series of three combined day-night raids against the capital Sofia, conducted during the second stage of the allied offensive air operation. The main purpose of its implementation is to compose objective assessment of the events on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the actions of the two groups that met in the sky over Sofia.
