Summary/Abstract: In the near future the Bulgarian Air Force will use outdated aircraft, produced within the late 1980s and early 1990s. The same is for their armament included guided missiles. The budgetary constraints make the strategy of acquisition of the new ones difficult to implement. The only option available is prolongation of the life cycle, based on scientific and expert approach. In this article the current achievements are analyzed as well future directions for improvement of trsting methodology.
