Summary/Abstract: By increasing a bit rate and an optical fiber length, there is a need of new methods for a regeneration and an enhancement of the optical signal. One of the newest methods of that kind is associated with optical amplifiers based on nonlinear effects. The report explores the impact of Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) on the amplifier gain of the Raman amplifier. Examined on two types of optical fibers at different power and wavelengths of the pump.
