Summary/Abstract: In this paper English teachers from two military higher educational establishments of Ukraine share their experience on the ways of increasing cadets’ motivation to learn ESL. The article briefly analyzes the relationships between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. It focuses on practical methods/techniques to boost students’ motivation in order to enhance the efficiency of the lessons, raise students’ self-esteem and encourage them for language learning. The article deals with material development issues, lesson activities, extra-curriculum clubs, teachers’ cooperation and choosing appropriate resources to make students be more engaged in the learning process.
