Summary/Abstract: When Antim Ivireanul arrived to Wallachia as a priest, to be eventually appointed as the head of the Church, during the reign of the famous ruler Constantin Brancoveanu, his notoriousness had already preceeded him, as a printer, a polyglot, a refined men of arts, as well as a skilful speaker within holy matters. As an author of homilies, known as Didahii, he did not ressemble to his predecesors, because he proved much more expressive then them, due to his superior culture. His array of knowledge included, of course, the prominent men of his field, and also some ancient philosophers and poets, and this mixture of influences, alongside with his sensitive and imaginative mind, created an exquisite style in Romanian literature, a landmark of the eighteenth century
