Summary/Abstract: The article is an analysis of Polish translation equivalents of the Croatian preposition usprkos. Based on the corpus of contemporary Croatian literature and its Polish translations, we conclude that this preposition can be translated as: mimo (in spite of, despite), wbrew (against), na przekór (in spite of, despite), pomimo (in spite of, despite), niezależnie od (regardless of), za cenę (at the cost of). The basic translation equivalent na przekór (in spite of, despite) has been determined through frequency analysis and semantic feature analysis.
