Summary/Abstract: As the feasting trend is rising in popularity, studies on characteristics of feastplaces are necessary. Particularly interesting examples of feast places are market halls.Scattered through Europe during the 19th and 20th century, they were originally buildto facilitate trade organization, meet sanitary standards and enhance local eminency.Nowadays, it is common for market halls to be renovated and reorganized. Recently mosttalked about Warsaw’s market hall revival is that of Koszyki market hall (Hala Koszyki),which was completed in 2016. Formerly serving the purpose of neighbourhood’s marketplaceand melting pot, now became a place fi lled with fancy restaurants and shopswhich seem to be dedicated to a somewhat limited clientele. In order to determine the true opinion of Koszyki market’s users, a survey was conductedin 2017. The venue’s general reception is found to be positive. However, whatis worrisome, is the opinion that Koszyki market is a place dedicated to young, trendyVarsovians. It was an impression that was frequently voiced while completing the surveyand during conversation. Further observations need to be made, as it is possible thatgentrifi cation processes near Koszyki market hall have already triggered.
