Summary/Abstract: The article discusses some terms from the architectural view of the medieval town, excerpted from chapter 38th of the Procheiros Nomos, or Zakon gradskiy. The author aims at demonstrating how the perception of the Medieval Town as a complex symbol stimulates the use of specific Slavonic words of terminological meaning. At the same time,the town-focused paradigm allows the interpretation to be carried out not in the prospective of ethnicity, linguistic domination and opposition, but from those of the universality and the Byzantine-Slavonic commonwealth
