Summary/Abstract: Changes in the driving forces of the development of the economy and society have been scientifically substantiated and a new hierarchy of the above-mentioned changes has been reflected. The dominant importance of knowledge, information and innovations in the formation of a new economy has been proven. The main features of the new economy have been singled out. The author's vision of the theoretical construct of innovative work has been described. The phenomenon of labor has been considered in two plans – as a process and as a resource. The genesis of the concept of "innovation" has been investigated and its understanding with respect to the sphere of labor has been expanded. Modern vectors of the transformation of the content and nature of labor in line with innovation have been determined. The format of the sphere of application of innovative labor as the processes of creating, implementing and using innovations has been considered. The results of innovative labor implementation has been divided into two categories – results that do not have market valuation and are not subject to commercialization and results that have market valuation and are subject to purchase and sale. Socially-economic forms of innovative labor have been scientifically grounded. The peculiarities of innovative labor as a labor of postindustrial type have been determined. An assessment of the scope of the spread of innovative labor in the economy of Ukraine has been carried out. The range of opportunities and threats created by the new economy for economically active people in the context of labor innovation has been determined.
