Summary/Abstract: The current evolutions near Romanian borders, emphasized by the Ukrainian crisis prove the importance and complexity of the international relations within the Extended Black Sea Region (EBSR) - an Area bordered, in a more comprehensive approach by the Western limit of the Eastern Europe and Caucasus, on one hand and Turkey and The Baltic Sea, on the other hand. In such a heterogeneous area as EBSR, where the interests of different actors trigger rapid and considerable changes of the security environment, the strategic acknowledgement and the adaptation must be imperative and needed means to orient the foreign policy lines which govern interstate relationships.
