Summary/Abstract: In a cooperative security perspective, the security of one state is viewed as intrinsically linked to, and dependent on, the security of others. This interdependence of security thus motivates states to utilize multilateral forums, including formal institutions, to make cooperation easier. NATO has demonstrated a capacity to function along these lines in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Irak, and Afghanistan.
