Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to cover the Polish reception of literary oeuvre by Sylvia Plath. Translations, especially translations of her poetry, are in the centre, however due to the fact that the biographical myth of Plath lives on also in Poland, The Bell Jar, her short stories, diary and letters are also mentioned. Polish translations of all these texts, including volumes of Plath’s poetry, met with lively response among critics and readers. The most intriguing record of this response is a substantial number of Polish poems inspired by poetry and biography of Sylvia Plath; some of them are discussed in the text.
