Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper was to analyze symptoms, types of dizziness and themost common causes leading to vertigo and disequilibrium in elderly people.In the introduction the author presents basic information on the anatomy andphysiology of the inner ear and the balance system. The following part of thepaper is devoted to conveying the current knowledge on pathology, treatmentand rehabilitation of vertigo and balance disorders in elderly people.
