Summary/Abstract: In the past, folk architecture varied due to a number of factors. Natural conditions, use of accessible materials, reflections of different styles, historical turning points (mainly in the form of waves of colonization), the historic, social, and economic contexts that initiated the inception of human settlements or urban landscapes were all engaged to some extent in the differentiation process, the result of which was a unique, and sometimes unmistakable, architecture of human settlements in individual areas of Moravia.
