Summary/Abstract: The author of the publication on the papal teaching concerning human love does notpretend to a holistic portrayal of correlations between a person and love in its entirety.She brings her searches back to the attempt to find the answer to the fundamentalquestion of what is love and what is the perception of love in the semantic range ofSaint John Paul II and Benedict XVI’s teaching. The key concept of love has beenshown as an anthropological, psychological, ethical and pedagogical category. Theability to love has been interpreted as a sign of a person’s mature humanity. Thepublication reveals four aspects of love according to KarolWojtyła and two dimensionsof love contained in Benedict XVI’s encyclical Deus Caritas est. Thereby it throws lighton the multiplicity and the unity of love in human life, which is characteristic of apapal envoy. The final part of the publication draws attention to the family as a basic,loving and nurturing environment with a discussion of the educational value of love inan integral and realistic perception of a person.
