- Summary/Abstract:Sex and sexuality are an element of human primal identity. The culture that cameafter the age of matriarchy began to diminish the magical and also natural value ofa woman. One form of deprecating this female energy were and still are all kinds oftaboos. The taboo’s regulatory nature is obvious, human sexuality has becomeperhaps the first and certainly the eternal subject of restrictions. The article presentstwo outstanding concepts – those of B. Russell and K. H. Deschner – distant from eachother in time, but both revealing bigotry and ambivalence of words and deeds ofpeople representing taboo control institutions. Taboo perceived as a set of imposedand simultaneously heteronomous norms is becoming increasingly distant from thequality of life of people in the modern world, in which civilized societies tend toincrease the autonomy of the subject along with his responsibility for the ethicalnature of his own behaviour.

- Keywords:love; feelings; language
- Summary/Abstract:Concern for the precision of words, for aptly naming emotional states is also a concernfor the state of consciousness. Language expresses thoughts, feelings and experiencesand at the same time influences the state of consciousness; in many cases the statedescribed as love should be referred to as habits, attachment, brotherhood, sympathy. We are taught that we have to love a family, a husband, a wife, which leads to the factthat we often declare a state of feeling in a way that is falsified. For example, we knowthat we should declare love for a human being, even though it is a feeling that we havefor a very small circle of people. Besides, love would not allow us to conduct wars thataccompany our history. The basic variety of love is love for yourself. This is thefoundation of the other types of love. Love is not an anthropological category becauseanimals also experience feelings. Descartes was wrong in treating animals likemachines, but so far we have not learned enough from this knowledge.

- Keywords:postmodernism; subjection (French assujettissement); creativity; autocreation; Pedagogy of the Self
- Summary/Abstract:An understanding of what the creative act is in terms of pedagogy is mainly dependenton the assumed conception of creativity. According to various criteria one candistinguish between differing conceptions, posing questions about the subject matterof creativity, the area it refers to, its conditions or effect. In postmodern philosophy, creativity is conceived of – after J. Derrida – as “discovering the Other”: somethingunpredictable, something that had not existed before. It seems that such anunderstanding of creativity inspired Michel Foucault’s interpretations of classicaltexts. In the final two volumes of A History of Sexuality the analysis of sexual reflectionsand advice contained in classical texts gives him a pretext to develop an individual“A Pedagogy of the Self.” It is a story about the autocreation of the subject regardingthe shaping of one’s own needs and the work one does on oneself. The effect is tomake life resemble something of a work of art, being an example for others and theobject of mimetic imitation. And thus, what message – as part of the Pedagogy of the Self – does the philosopher want to leave us with when talking about erotica andlove in antiquity?

- Summary/Abstract:Fairy tales are the favourite genre of children and adults. The values which are visiblewhen we read the texts or tell the stories become the concern of research scientistswho discover anew the merits of such texts. The variety of motives and plots allows forindividual perception of the discussed themes. The triumph of the good over the bad, happy endings, supernatural forces, indeterminacy of time and place, moral norms –all these factors emphasize the values of the genre. The inherent components of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales are the elements of terrorand dread, violence and drastic punishment for those who contributed to others’suffering. Interpersonal relations in the texts are complicated as coincidence oftenprovokes the protagonists to behave in an irrational way. In order to satisfy others orfulfil their own aims, the protagonists put to the test their bodies or find themselves onthe verge of life and death. What is more, they often become the victims of their owndecisions or of smarter and faster heroes.

It seems that the reflection on the methods ofeducation used by the great-grandfather, trying to help a young man accustomed toeveryday carelessness find the sense of existence, and not only in conditionsfavourable to man, but also in a situation of loneliness, danger, suffering, can bea significant signpost for contemporary parents who want to fulfil their duties ofpreparing sons and daughters to lead a responsible existence as faithfully as possible. It is worth following the ways in which the main protagonist translated his owneducative ideal into the language of practice and how he realized the ideals of thepedagogy of love. By referring to the assumptions of the personalistic philosophy ofdialogue of Józef Tischner in my commentary I will try to answer three fundamentalquestions: Who was human for Howard “Red” Stevens? What did he want to achievewhen he made (after his death) an attempt to raise a twenty-something-year-old man?And what kind of educational principles led the billionaire to achieve that goal?

Regarding this the authorconducts an analysis of the values in the following four groups of human features:1) “constant” features in a human being, i.e., either constantly appearing or thosewhich might get developed in the human being – which are relatively universal incharacter; 2) “constant” features in men which don’t appear in all human individuals and are not supposed to appear in everyone but are appreciated when they are inaccordance with themselves or with some other characteristics of the given humanindividual; 3) features showing the spiritual outer and inner opulence of a man, determining the human being’s unity in spite of many antinomies appearing in it;4) human nature features describing mankind as “individuality” and not “uniformity”.The author also discusses the pedagogical aspects of love in connection with what ishuman, taking into account the humanistic meaning of pedagogical activity andhumanistic ways of applying them in human life – in an educationist’s and her/hisfollowers’ lives. - Summary/Abstract:Optimism is a prerequisite in increasing opportunities and achieving success in the lifeof every human being. It is crucial to develop it during early childhood. Its basis is notpositive slogans, words or conceptions of victories, but the way of thinking andreacting. “Try to do something” instead of “This is impossible” contributes to thedevelopment and everyday practice of an optimistic approach to life. Nowadays takingup a job in learning optimism promotes the calm attitude of children and adults. There are many studies in the literature based on the positive psychology ofM. Seligman, who as a precursor of positive thinking and approach created theconcept of eliminating helplessness and thus a constructive solution of difficulties inthe life of every human being. Conclusions from research and practice encouragereflection and show that the best time to start learning optimism begins with thedevelopment of a little child. At that time kindergarten is the place of development ofthe attitude using peer relations in the pre-school group. The optimistic attitude ofa little child triggers involvement in play, builds self-esteem, and triggers a joyful approach to new situations. The effects of positive emotions in childhood help buildone’s own resources and social resources, which are often used later in life. The aim ofthe article is to present a proprietary Polish optimistic kindergarten program thatallows you to develop desirable attitudes in children and then prepares them for entryinto the school period and adulthood.
