Summary/Abstract: Concern for the precision of words, for aptly naming emotional states is also a concernfor the state of consciousness. Language expresses thoughts, feelings and experiencesand at the same time influences the state of consciousness; in many cases the statedescribed as love should be referred to as habits, attachment, brotherhood, sympathy.We are taught that we have to love a family, a husband, a wife, which leads to the factthat we often declare a state of feeling in a way that is falsified. For example, we knowthat we should declare love for a human being, even though it is a feeling that we havefor a very small circle of people. Besides, love would not allow us to conduct wars thataccompany our history. The basic variety of love is love for yourself. This is thefoundation of the other types of love. Love is not an anthropological category becauseanimals also experience feelings. Descartes was wrong in treating animals likemachines, but so far we have not learned enough from this knowledge.
